Before Hiring Your Wedding Photographer Ask...
• Can you get a combination of color and black and white
photographs?
• Does he or she provide a detailed contract? How does he or she determine cost?
What are you getting for your money? How and when does he or she expect payment?
• Is the photographer open to a list of must-have shots? About how many photos
do they usually shoot at a wedding? Of those, how many proofs do you get?
• Who develops his or her film? Can you purchase the negatives? What type of
after process techniques are available, if any? Is the copyright released?
• How long does it take to receive your photographs?
• What type of cameras and film do they use? Is the camera digital?
• Do they carry backup equipment? Remember, professionals are prepared.
• How long has the photographer shot weddings in your area?
• Does he or she offer any special services that can enhance your wedding or
reception?
• Is your photographer willing to provide references?

Three Hints to Help Your Photographer Make the Most
of Your Wedding
• Meet with your
photographer two or three times before the event so you don't feel like
strangers.
• Likely some portion of the day will be devoted
to personal portraits. To get your photographer's best, give him or her the time
and space he or she needs to produce for you.
• If you don't have a wedding coordinator on hand,
assign someone you can rely on to help gather people for those special shots
you've requested of the photographer.
